The Country Doctor

Dr. Karsten Mattiesen maintained a medical practice in the lush countryside of Schleswig-Holstein near the North Sea. He has always helped to solve the problems of the people of Deekelsen. When Dr. Mattiesen is killed during the rescue of a child ("The death of Dr. Mattiesen", first episode of series 4), his successor, Dr. Teschner, finds himself trying to follow a legend. Only a budding relationship with the temperamental Annamarie Mattiesen keeps the doctor from leaving Deekelsen. This moving, cheerful, and sometimes turbulent family series offers rich stories from the photogenic location at Deekelsen.
