Bernd Fröhlich is a qualified car mechanic who worked in the production department of a supply company for more than 30 years. Then his company went bankrupt, and Bernd was made redundant. That was over a year ago now, and in that time Bernd has sent off countless job applications, had several job interviews – and received many rejections. Each time, his hopes of finding a new job fade a little more.
At home, Bernd has taken on the role of househusband. Fortunately, his wife Petra was able to expand her work as a beautician. She now hosts at-home sales parties, where she sells cosmetics and lingerie. With the money she earns, Petra is able to keep the household going. But traditionalist Bernd isn’t exactly happy about that.
