Eva and Ludger are eagerly awaiting their first child when Ludger is offered the chance to do a few months of training with the FBI. He flies to the US shortly after daughter Sarah is born. Two days before Ludger’s return, the unthinkable happens. Eva wakes up in the morning to find Sarah dead. She wanders through town, in shock, when she suddenly hears a baby crying. Eva comforts the child, who has been left alone in a car for a moment, then takes the baby home with her.
