Since the death of his single mother, ten-year-old Michael lives in a children’s home and is desperate to be with a real family again. But one day, when bouncing around in his mother’s home, he comes across a letter and finds a clue about his father Tom. Full of anticipation and excitement, he sets out to visit him and imagines him to be a great, strong man who will protect him. Much to Michael’s disappointment, his father Tom turns out to be a vertically challenged! When the other home children learn about it, the chaos is perfect: the others abandon Michael who holds his father responsible for this. In his rage, he becomes quite unfair and their fragile relationship is put to a hard test. An intriguing father-son story and a plea for tolerance in every respect.
