Episode 4: Teamwork Is Dreamwork

  • Neu

In this episode of “Wild Talk” we look at how some animals communicate when they need to work together as a team. Using a variety of communication techniques such as sound, touch or visual displays animals can come together and work as a group. Examples include the amazing starling murmurations when thousands of these birds all fly as one whole, swirling mass. Scientists think they may do it to confuse predators, such as hawks, so they can’t focus on one individual bird to attack.   We also look at how wolves communicate through howling to stay together as a pack in the wilderness in case they get lost.  We follow a scientist as he shows how ants can communicate as a team by following each other to a food source. We also look at how flamingoes perform their incredible group dances where thousands of these exotic birds twist and twirl together.
