Ann Kathrin Klaasen and Frank Weller have finally made it. The couple is getting married in a civil ceremony at the Tea Museum in Nord. The morning after the traditional St. Martin’s bonfire, Ubbo Heide, Head of Criminal Investigations, is forced to call the couple back from their honeymoon. A hungover Rupert discovered the charred remains of a corpse in the still-smoking ashes of the fire. When another body is found under a bouncy castle on the beach, Klaasen and her fellow detectives find themselves in pursuit of a serial killer.
