Former triathlete Ludger Seiters is found dead in the sauna of his hotel. The examination by forensics specialist Dr. Robert Kolmaar and criminal investigator Joe Hoffer confirms that the victim had been involved in a struggle. The investigations uncover a number of inconsistencies in the witnesses’ statements, and several people suddenly find themselves with a motive for murder – and become suspects. The unusual relationship between Seiters’ wife Jutta and her sister Anette Albrecht also arouses the suspicion that the two women might have something to do with the murder. The autopsy reveals that Ludger Seiters died of cardiovascular failure after a spleen injury. Shortly thereafter, an incident in the hotel kitchen is prevented from turning tragic at the last minute by Joe Hoffer and Dr. Robert Kolmaar. But their intervention also leads them onto the track of the cunning killer...
