Johan Falk and the GSI team are trying to nab the masterminds behind a vast drug-dealing network that's about to sell pure Estonian amphetamines. Falk suspects that the legendary ex-KGB agent "Mr. K." is behind this. But since nobody knows what Mr. K. looks like, Falk’s team is chasing after a phantom. Falk’s informant in Gothenburg, Frank Wagner, wants out of the team but is being pressed by Falk to get Seth Rydell as an investor for the drug deal. Wagner had promised his wife to quit, but the very opposite happens: when Seth gets stopped by the police in a routine control and is arrested, Wagner has to improvise: he manages the deal on his own, winning the confidence of the shadowy Mikhael, who’s interested in buying the shipment. Wagner has nothing to lose: his wife lost their baby when she was beaten up by the Estonians. Now he wants revenge.
