Vida offers Tom to work for her as a lawyer. He is supposed to help her through lawsuits to raise funds for ALS research, since her father suffers from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, an incurable disease of the nervous system. Vida would also like to use the AI developed by her employer to find a therapy for ALS. Since her boss has concerns about this and wants to delete the program again, Vida decides to take control of the AI.
