In the rare circumstances where a pilot loses control of their planes' descent, the results can be among the worst disasters in aviation history. This episode explores why and how descents can sometimes go badly wrong and starts with the failed Air France airshow stunt in 1988, which descended too low during a low fly-by and tragically killed three members of the public. Unfortunately dangerous descents don't only happen at airshows and this programme will also look at how uncontrolled descents during a commercial craft's runway landing, can have deadly consequences for everyone on board.
