The Horse family - one of the most recognisable groups of animals, creatures that share an ancient relationship with humans.
Scientifically known as Equidae, this family of hoofed mammals also includes asses, donkeys and zebras. In Just Horses we will explore their evolution from their wild ancestors that roamed Earth about 55 million years through to the domestication of horses and asses some 6,000 years ago. We will examine the three different species of Zebra which call Africa home, and trek to Mongolia where the Przewalski’s Horse, the closest thing to a truly “wild horse” roams.
