When a boy disappears overnight from the Bergisches Land in Germany, Ingo Thiel, head of the special task force assigned to the search, finds himself with a criminal case on his hands. Directed by Urs Egger, the film recounts the “Mirco Case” and is based on the true story that shook Germany when a ten-year-old boy was murdered in the autumn of 2010 in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The story begins when Mirco’s parents find him missing one morning, Mirco having failed to return from the skate park the previous night. The police begin their search, and when Mirco’s clothes are found, their fears are confirmed: the boy is dead.
