A spate of break-ins in the villas of Wiesbaden's artists’ quarter shocks Wiesbaden residents. The culprit removes all evidence with special white extinguishing foam.
Could it be a police officer or fireman? They have the required knowledge, after all. During a burglary, a security guard is hit and killed with a fire extinguisher. Inspector Heller soon has an eye witness in her sights: former teacher Jan Drexler, a drop-out who lives in the woods and makes ends meet doing odd jobs. Winnie is convinced he is to blame. Another murder takes place - but Drexler is at the station being interrogated at the time. The inspectors have to reassess the evidence.
The closer they get to the truth, the more it becomes clear that the crimes hide a human tragedy: in a Wiesbaden hospital, several patients were infected with HIV as a result of contaminated blood. The victims did not have the chance to obtain justice in court as their complaint was dismissed. Heller and Verhoeven frantically try to ascertain which of the victims wants to take revenge on the judge and hospital staff. The clock ticks and the moral pressure increases as they desperately search for the culprit. At the last minute, Winnie Heller gains control.
