Leonore Loos is found near death in her home, as her son Tristan, a young man with Down syndrome, sits on the floor nearby. In the hospital in Leipzig, Leonore dies during surgery. The “quartet” begins to investigate. At the hospital, they encounter Dr. Weyermann, a renowned surgeon who recently performed a kidney transplant on Tristan, but she is unable to provide any information that can help the investigation.
