Mari’s younger brother Brian comes to visit, and immediately drops a bombshell: He has decided to join the German Armed Forces. This comes as a shock to Mari, and she cannot imagine a worse place for her gay brother to be working. Although Mari thinks Brian’s kitschy iPad pictures are dreadfully ordinary, she tries to convince him to apply to art school instead.
