When Chief Superintendent Hannes Schulte, a genuine big-city hot shot from the Wedding quarter of Berlin, is transferred for disciplinary reasons to the peaceful East Holstein commissioner's office of Altenkrempe, he reckons with the worst: slowpoke colleagues, backwoods investigation methods, and boring arguments about garden fences and dead chickens. On the other hand, Jette Jessen, Catrin Christiansen, and Jost Reedmacher, his new colleagues at the police station, also don't really know how to deal with Hannes' cocky manner. When Lars Tennhagen - the town's horseback sheriff - also gets involved, the new boss' first day on the job blows up in his face. It's almost a relief that the team is confronted with its first case right away.
