Eva has paid a high price for winning back her job – by helping to topple the incoming Business Secretary Otto Falk before he was sworn in. When she finally has the opportunity to inspect her file in the gallery, however, she discover that is empty. Was it Zielert who wiped the file clean? Is he pulling the strings, the one behind Stefan Link, her blackmailing and the other machinations? Shortly after Eva threatens to report Zielert to the police, she narrowly survives an attack thanks to the intervention of Holger Thomas. They join forces to have Zielert convicted. The key lies with the environmental lobbyist Frank Rolfskind, who had good reason not to disclose his secret meeting with the then Business Secretary Bertram Kaiser. Will Eva be able to overcome Rolfskind’s resistance in order to secure her boss’s conviction?
