The body of Kristin Lange is found on the banks of Maanstedter lake. The student, who worked as a waitress in the nearby rowing club, had ambitious plans to escape the confines of the small town. The detectives find out that Kristin was having an affair with Mark, a law student and the son of the rowing club manager Peer Jakobshagen. To complicate matters further, Mark has just become engaged to the daughter of the ship owner, Frida Reitmayer. Could she have caught wind of the affair?
