Retiree Gerda gets a heart attack after her balcony flower container falls off and nearly hits the neighbor's baby. The neighbor who came to complain, discovers Gerda and rescues her. The teenage girls Evi and Nina see a man drowning a sack of kittens and jump into the river to save them. While Evi is able to rescue the kittens, Nina floats lifelessly in the water. Evi begs the man for help but he flees. Luckily a nearby surfer comes to the rescue and calls the air rescue team.
