Grandma Drombusch, who has lived alone in Giessen since her husband died, is looking forward to spending Christmas and New Year’s with her children and grandchildren in Darmstadt, like every year. But things don’t quite seem to be working out as planned when her grandchildren quietly back out of their promise to devote their time to the family during the holidays. Vera Drombusch also puts up a fight, because she has no desire to spend her Christmas and New Year’s with her mother-in-law.
