Just as Laura is about to show her Star that she can tie her shoelaces by herself, she spots a little boy she's never seen before in the window opposite. His presence offends Laura, and she abandons her chat with the Star. When the same boy takes the last piece of cake at the baker’s the next morning, she decides she hates him, and she encourages the other children not to play with him. The boy goes off by himself and starts drawing something in the sand. Later Laura sees that he has drawn a beautiful starry sky, and she realises that she's made a mistake: he's a boy after her own heart. She just hopes it's not too late, because the next thing she knows, the boy has gone.
