When the leadership of the imperial Navy decides to send warships against the British Royal Navy, despite the already certain German defeat, it triggers the sailor's rebellion in Kiel. It quickly develops into a revolution which spreads through the Reich. On the 9th of November, a republic is declared. Later, the German Reich is transformed from a constitutional monarchy into a parliamentary democracy. Kaiser Wilhelm II abdicates.
