A hundred 3- to 4-minute short films on central themes of history: this simple but ingenious idea grew out of the ZDF's editorial cooperation with the contemporary history department of ZDF Enterprises. While themes from the fairly recent past characterized Season I, Season II looks further into the past, to the Crusades and Middle Ages, the European revolutions and competition for the colonies. These shows draw upon the best ZDF history series such as "The Germans" and "Women Who Made History."
