Germany’s underwater world is a well-kept secret. Hidden beneath the surface are some little-known creatures, from strange moss animals to prehistoric fish. This is a journey from the central highlands to the North Sea, offering a rare glimpse into a colourful and mysterious world.
We follow the migration of an ancient fish, the Atlantic sturgeon, and meet hunters, like the ground beetle which feeds on tadpoles and the sea eagle, which can spot the silhouette of a fish through the ice. On the banks of the river, a family of beavers explore the surroundings around their underwater lodge.
