Theresa Wolff is a coroner whose profession is death, but her true passion is life. She has just left Berlin to take a position as head of the Institute of Forensic Medicine in her hometown of Jena. On her very first case, Theresa encounters her childhood sweetheart Steffen Köhler, now a doctor at Jena University Hospital. The body of Steffen’s wife Vera, a doctor at the same hospital, is found in her car when it is pulled from a reservoir. Theresa soon realizes that Vera was the victim of a violent crime.
