Theresa is called to the market square in Jena to examine a body. The victim in question had profited from the fall of the Berlin Wall. Working with three other men, he had used patents from East Germany’s state-owned combine to build the optical company Aspiclab, which the men then drove into bankruptcy in the 1990s. While they made millions, others were left high and dry. One of them, Bodo Zoch, had tried to exact revenge for himself and the many unemployed people back then and had gone to jail for it. Has Bodo’s thirst for revenge now resurfaced, years after his release?
