For the bridal couple on board the MS Deutschland it is a dream come true. After a romantic wedding on the ship they will go ashore with wedding planners Marie and Daniel, to see the sights of Chile, and then to visit the famous giant stone statues of Easter Island. Oliver and Claudia Schirmer have been together for several years, and now - much to the displeasure of Sophie, Oliver's daughter from his first marriage - they have decided to get married. Sophie's dislike of Claudia threatens to cast a shadow over their happiness, but Claudia is accustomed to dealing with difficult situations, and if anybody can find a solution to the problem, she can. She knows that the family is burdened by a huge secret: Oliver has never told anybody where Sophie's mother is now living. So now Claudia resolves to settle things once and for all, because she knows the answer: Sophie's mother lives in Chile. Claudia's intention is to bring the family back together, although she is well aware that it will take huge sensitivity on her part to make sure her plan saves their marriage rather than destroying the entire family.
