For the wedding planners Stefan and Laura, the journey to Lisbon is somewhat of a debut: they’re travelling together for the first time as a father and daughter team.
Captain Victor Burger’s crew is excited to see how the two of them will approach their day-to-day work given the new situation. And what’s more, the bridal couples will also be needing their wedding planners’ full attention.
Contrary to the plan, Ina’s best friend and maid of honour, Sophie, arrives on board alone. She’s dumped her boyfriend after find out that he cheated on her. Full of sympathy, Ina lavishes her with attention, much to the annoyance of her fiancé Philip. He soon realises that going on a honeymoon as a trio has the potential for fireworks. The newly-wed husband only sees one way to save the holiday. He asks a fado guitarist to try to woo, comfort and look after Sophie. His plan seems to work – until the friends get wise to it.
Anne and Florian have already had to postpone their wedding once. Shortly before the original date, Anne had a riding accident and since then she has been confined to a wheelchair. Margit, her mother-in-law, doubts whether the marriage will be able to withstand the change in their circumstances.
