Grace is in her mid-thirties, a beautiful woman, a doctor in a small community in the middle of the Canadian wilderness.
Ten years ago her brother Bill lost his wife, and Grace came back from the city to live here and take care of Bill and his daughter Melly.
Now Melly is 17 years old, and gradually Grace has come to accept that she is not destined to experience deep and lasting love… until one day she finds a seriously injured man at the roadside, and her life is abruptly turned upside down.
