In the small quiet town of Vredegem, the Goethals sisters prepare for the funeral of their brother-in-law, Jean-Claude Delcorps. Meanwhile, in a neighboring town, insurance agents Thomas and Mathias Dewitt are on the verge of bankruptcy. The Federal Insurance Commission has given them two weeks to shore up the funds necessary to keep their license, but with the Delcorps payout looming over their heads, it seems a hopeless endeavor. Due to the suspicious nature of Jean-Claude’s death, the brothers decide to launch an investigation into the case. They pay a visit to the widow, Goedele, and quickly rule her out - the other four sisters, however, are far less innocent than they first appeared…
