Finance executive Wilhelm Löring, a man used to succeeding at whatever he does, is admitted to a psychiatric facility after a nervous breakdown. Refusing to accept the fact that he is ill, he begins to recruit people in his therapy group with specific talents to help him take the facility public and launch it on the stock market. Little by little, he grows fond of his comrades-in-arms, and the financial venture becomes less important.
