Britta Janssen (Anna Schudt) runs a catering service in the idyllic hamlet of Klein-Beken. Time and again she finds herself mixed up in various crimes. Brother Max (Aurel Manthei), with whom she shares an old farmhouse, is head of the local police department. When a capital crime occurs in the parish, Max not only finds himself up against Torsten Wallat (Michael Roll), chief of homicide at Münster police headquarters. Britta, too, leaves no stone unturned to solve the case on her own with her brother’s involuntary help. Britta’s inn and guest house is a regular meeting place for visiting strangers and an odd assortment of local villagers, sometimes giving rise to amusing and intriguing incidents or amorous escapades.
