Munich-born Hanna Hellmann completely panics when her boyfriend Stefan Reimann proposes to her. She runs away, hops on a train, and finally ends up at the Kaiserhütte mountain inn not far from Innsbruck. For the time being Hanna can't return to Munich. Lisa, the manager of the mountain inn, tells her she can stay for a few days. Hanna runs into the mountain guide Alessandro and spontaneously feels drawn to him. He also develops feelings for Hanna, but she isn't ready yet to allow her feelings free rein. Hanna helps Lisa with her work as manager of the mountain inn.
