At eight years old, it seems as though Lionel Messi’s football career will be over before it has begun. He has stopped growing. The doctor confirms that the boy with the nickname „la pulga“ - the flea – is suffering from a rare form of growth-restriction. Only an expensive therapy can help, but for Lionel's father, an ordinary worker, it is unaffordable. Devastated, he decides to immigrate to Spain. There little Lionel is noticed by a football coach who wants him in his team. In the end, the football club even covers the costs of Lionel's therapy! Soon, he starts to grow again and becomes a football superstar.
