Former cheerleader Darlie Routier had always been proud of her good looks, which helped her marry a wealthy man and live in luxury. But after giving birth to three sons, she felt that motherhood was ruining her looks and her life, and she blamed her children. In 1996, she stabbed her sons, Devon, 6, and Damon, 5, with a carving knife. Then she wounded herself to convince police that an intruder had killed her sons.
But in her account of the attack she contradicted herself. Later, the 26 year old mother was tried and convicted for killing her sons. She is awaiting execution by lethal injection.
