At a funeral in a cemetery on Sylt, Hinnerk Feldmann discovers a dead woman underneath the coffin of the deceased. Her name is Maria Fröbe, and she was suffocated the night before. Maria was a cantor in the church choir, and after choir rehearsal she had ridden her bike home with Malte Arent. Malte works for Maria’s husband, Jochen Fröbe, at his thatched roof business. Jochen accuses Malte of being both Maria’s lover and her murderer.
