On the very day Neiss is about to start his first day as the new attending physician at Flensburg’s Förde Hospital, he falls off his bike and breaks his right arm. There is growing concern that Nice’s fall has undone the progress made on his injured hand. Only with great reluctance does Nice yield to Dr. Schmidtke’s insistence that he remain hospitalized, with his head and arm immobilized.
