After the ship has set sail, a basket with a baby is discovered in Captain Parger’s cabin, with a note attached stating the child allegedly belongs to the Captain. But neither Parger nor Martin, the Staff Captain, have any idea where the boy came from. Nevertheless, the two men take on the time-consuming task of caring for the infant. The passengers on board for this voyage include Robert, a fifty-something reluctant to form relationships, and Lisa and her mother, Barbara, a successful businesswoman who raised Lisa by herself.
