Franz and Sandra Holzner run a quaint fish farm in the Bavarian Alpine foothills and take care of their daughter Lilly. In an unwatched moment, Lilly sits down in the family car and releases the handbrake. As Franz tries to get hold of the moving car he is badly injured. Surprisingly, he is operated on both legs – even the healthy one – and will be absent for quite some time. Former nurse Katja enters the Holzner family business helping to rescue the fish farm. She tells Franz to ask for financial compensation from the hospital. For some reason, Kiki, Katja´s daughter, who is a trainee nurse at the same hospital, withholds that she was present during the surgery - why does she?
