A teenager whose serious hereditary disease left him with a very low life expectancy suddenly dies. Vera feels that his death, in spite of the particular circumstances, came about rather unexpectedly, and gives rise to a few questions. Then it turns out that the youth was a test person in a series of pharmaceutical experiments and that important tissue samples disappeared afterwards from the forensics department. It appears that something is strategically being kept secret. What role does the supervising physician play? And the dead boy’s parents? Vera ultimately obtains a horrifying look into a family drama that is as sad as it is tragic.
