Husband and wife Robert and Annika Thomsen are just about to sit down and have breakfast when the doorbell rings. An armed masked man forces his way through their front door, shooting Robert in cold blood before kidnapping Annika, a bank employee, at gunpoint. On her way to the crime scene, Vera sees a man viciously dragging a woman towards a bank building. When the inspector attempts to intervene, she suddenly finds herself looking down the barrel of a gun.
