The state government sends a pandemic commissioner to take charge on the island. Mayor Østergaard and police officer Mikkel are not very enthusiastic about the imposed measures. After separating from her husband, Helena breaks down and gets incredibly drunk during a business meeting with Chinese investors. She ends up in bed with Nikolai Wagner, who had tried to flee the island by ferry, but wasn’t able buy a ticket because his credit card was cancelled. Their one-night stand gives them both a boost of energy. But then bad news shocks everyone on the island: Ole, one of the two infected boys, has died in the hospital.
