In East Frisia, the world is no longer in order. The weather-beaten prawn fishermen, who head out in their trawlers every night to the North Sea, are fighting for survival. In the prawn shelling factory, Hein meets the spirited Mona, who works there shelling German prawns for ten euros a day. Mona likes the quiet, respectful German, and when they laugh together over dinner about always falling in love with the wrong person, they’re both touched by a delicate sense of falling in love. Hein invites Mona to his home in East Frisia for a trial period of three months. If things go well, they’ll find a way. Mona throws all caution to the wind and embarks on this adventure.
