Everybody is familiar with housing developments and their kindergartens and community halls, supermarkets and speed bumps, not to forget their nearby freeway access. Their target groups are young families and couples who want to become one. After many sleepless nights, Jan and Anne, parents of 8-year-old Lukas and 15-year-old Lisa, decide to go ahead and risk the purchase of a suburban townhouse. Unfortunately, you have no influence over who will move in next door to your new home, no matter how much you've invested in it. It turns out that the neighbors are experts on waste separation, parking regulations, garden plants and, of course, raising children – advice they gladly, freely and often dispense. When Anne realizes that the genuinely sweet neighbor Maren used to be Jan's former big love, the situation threatens to escalate…
