Lena Berkow was always fascinated by the technology behind the most far-reaching invention of the mid 20th century: television. Before her father, a technological wizard, died, he left her a book with secret construction plans, and a name: Sattler. Lena ultimately meets Hans Sattler, who is developing an affordable television set at his father’s factory. He and Lena fall in love, but after a quarrel, she learns that her father had sold his invention to Sattler Sr. in 1945 – but of his own free will?
