The vast, open spaces of South Africa set the scene for this TV Movie cycle involving exotic adventures in the African bush, sharply contrasting lifestyles and cultures, as well as romance and life-and-death situations. Following as successor to Johanna, Jana has been appointed head of the Bush Hospital. She relies on the skills and expertise of bush pilot Thomas when trouble is afoot far from the clinic and when any other pilot would refuse to take on foolhardy missions that can save lives – but cost him his own.
