Chief Inspector Adam and his young colleague Karina investigate the death of Dr. Hellmann, whose body was found by forest ranger Saskia Bergelt in an old mine shaft in the Ore Mountains region. The victim was a professor who taught mining at the University of Mining and Technology of Freiberg, in addition to his activities advising an international raw materials group on promising exploratory drillings in the search for what is suspected to be a large deposit of lithium in the region, a raw material vital for the future of all things digital.
