British historian John Cross visits private detective Georg Wilsberg’s antiquarian bookstore shortly before Wilsberg is brought face to face with the case of a murdered cab driver. It soon becomes clear that the mysterious crime has roots that reach back in the city’s history. Cross, a former soldier stationed there years ago, has returned just before the old barracks are set to be demolished and replaced by new residential complexes.
