As a member of the workers’ council, employee Tobias Nagel has every right to fight for the rights of the staff. But his actions summon Hartmut Niehoff, the company’s lawyer, who is tasked with getting rid of the troublesome workers’ council member at the behest of Fabian Barkland, majority owner of the traditional pumpernickel producer bearing his name. Ekki’s cousin, Steffi Geller, also finds herself in Niehoff’s sights, since her involvement with Tobias Nagel doesn’t end at the workplace – she is also his girlfriend.
