The reputable New York attorney Alicia Charles can’t believe her ears: destitute globetrotter and occasional musician Will Hillinger wants her to help him be awarded custody of the orphaned nine-year-old Linus. Hillinger isn’t even related to the boy. He can’t provide Alicia with anything more than a clip from a family video that proves he’s the boy’s godfather. Alicia has just been released from the hospital following an accident and she thinks he’s crazy – until he confronts her with the terrible truth: she is responsible for the accident that cost the lives of the boy’s parents. Alicia has no memory of this event anymore.
